Rockfort

After COVID entered our lives,

Every day feels long…

Everything seems surreal…

Thoughts linger on when all of this will end,

What will the world be like after this…

Will we all survive…

In these difficult times, when weakness and fear take over my mind, there is this little hill near my home that brings in joy and hope,

Rockfort.

A small hill at the center of Trichy stands tall, magnificent, and strong for millions of years. There is a fort and a temple built on top of it. It is quite a beautiful sight and just fills the eyes ❤

Growing up very close to Rockfort, there are tonnes of stories that I can share about it. There are lots of good memories and it has been an integral part of my life. It is comfort, it is where I have been on my good days, bad days, and happy days. Last year when the COVID cases in Trichy were very high, the oil lamp on top of the hill was lit and that gave hope.

In recent times, walking a few steps from my home, lifting my head up, and taking a look at Rockfort and the lights on it has become a part of my day and is of great help. To me, Rockfort has always been a symbol of strength, evolution, longevity, and positivity. Whenever I see it, a ray of hope is born within. I tell myself, the world has seen a lot and has survived. So we will! Good times will come.

I'm sure everyone has some story, something that gives them hope in these difficult times. We need the stories out now, more than ever. The simple everyday things that keep us going.

Hope — need of the hour.
