To drive is to live

The beat of the engine, the sound of the wind, the sense of the road, the length of the journey, the high while raising the accelerator, the serenity while driving at 30…

At times a drive is all the soul needs.

Sometimes driving is crazy. Sometimes it’s like meditation. The drives when the sound of the engine and wind fill the ears, the mind is just on the road. Every bit in the present. Not in the past. Not in the future. Just at the moment. They are the moments when truly nothing else matters. The world freezes. Pure joy fills the air.

When the drive ends, it ends with wanting to be alive, just to go on a drive once again :)

Often a long slow drive is the best companion. Ideas and solutions flow through the mind. Suddenly the life puzzles do not seem that complex. You know you are not stuck. You are moving — slowly and steadily.

Life is after all very similar to a road journey. It’s full of choices at every move. Should I go right or left or take a U-turn, go fast or go slow..? There are well-built roads, there are roads less traveled. There are speed breakers and a lot of traffic. Everyone optimizes for different things in the journey. There are random people everywhere. How much ever we believe we choose our path, there is always the influence of other people, their paths and random diversions :)

Even when the destination of everyone is the same, the journey is different.
